A3--Apprentice Scenes

The Santa Fe Opera 2012

An opportunity to exhibit our skills, apprentice technicians and performers at the Santa Fe Opera took on roles of leading opera singers and designers for an evening of selected operatic scenes. For the first weekend of production, I served as lighting designer for scenes from I Puritani, The Consul, Turn of the Screw, and L'incoronazione di Poppea. The timeline for creation of these pieces was very short, rehearsals, research, and meetings occuring outside of the rigorous opera schedule. The compressed timeline was a challenge, and collaboration among artists became key.  At the end of the day, a beautiful Santa Fe sun set on a well crafted evening of opera for all involved to be proud of.
